Watch Dogs

Top 10 E3 2012 Games

In Watch Dogs you dive into a living open world where you must use whatever resources you have available to you to bring down a corrupt system. You play the role of Aiden Pearce. Your most powerful weapon is your mind, which is trained to hack into any given system that is connected to the network monitored by the ‘Central Operating System’. From manipulating traffic lights to remotely viewing security cameras, to jamming cell-phone signals and downloading sensitive information; you can do it all! With this ability you are able to control almost every aspect of the world around you, coercing it to behave in a manner advantageous to your cause. In Watch Dogs anything connected to the Central OS is a weapon.

Borderlands 2

Borderlands top e3 2012 games

New characters, new skills, new equipment, new weapons, lots of new weapons… did I mention new weapons? These are a few of the words used to describe what the much anticipated sequel to Borderlands is going to be like. Apart from this, gamers have been promised a story-line that will have them thoroughly engaged while simultaneously engaging a horde of new enemies in a fight to their (the enemies’) death. Gearbox has also stated that the missions in the sequel will be new and unique, which means there will be very few ‘Been there, done that’ moments. Do you think you can handle the Wubwub?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

TOP 10 Games of E3 2012

Metal Gear has fostered its reputation of being a slow-paced, tactical stealth game that has been enjoyed by at least two generations of gamers since its conception in 1998. It’s futuristic concept and adrenaline driven combat has always made it one of the most anticipated games of the year any of its installments were to be released. It’s good to know that hasn’t changed even though the very concept of the game has been thoroughly revamped. Revengeance takes place nine years after the events in Metal Gear Solid 4 and is a fast-paced hack-n’-slash game (very unlike the Metal gear series). You will be playing Raiden, the cybernetic warrior (who a lot of us have a personal problem with) last played in Metal Gear Solid 2. Watch out for the demo that will be included in the Zone of the Enders HD Collection (Thanks, Platinum Games!) before its worldwide release on the Xbox Live and PlayStation network. Personally, I have really high hopes for this game.

Top E3 Games

This is a game I’ve had my eyes on for quite a while now. It’s a novel concept, and something different is always welcome in our (the gamers) world. Only part is our world isn’t the only one involved in this game. In Dishonored you play a supernatural assassin whose main objective is to seek revenge. The game is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling town where technology and the supernatural coexist in seeming harmony. And you, being the busybody that you are, are going to disturb it. The flexible combat system in the game allows you to creatively eliminate targets using a clever combination of supernatural powers and weapons that are at your disposal. And what makes the game even better is that every choice you make, including how you approach your target, can cause the outcome of a mission to plunge into a completely different direction.

The Elder Scrolls Online

Top E3 2012 Games

They knew how much we loved Oblivion. Then they found out how much we loved Skyrim. So now they’re giving us something we can love for a really really long time, and that is an Elder Scrolls MMORPG. In Elder Scrolls Online players of three different factions will be pit against each other in a player versus player (PvP) format. This open world warfare will span over the regions of Cyrodiil and the Emperor’s Throne. Elder Scrolls Online is set a good one millennium before the events in Skyrim as the daedric prince, Molag Bal, tries to capture all of Tamriel into his demonic realm.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Top Games at E3 2012

A new Splinter cell in the news always excites me. Maybe it’s because I’ve been a fan of this franchise since its very start or maybe because the franchise is actually that good! Well, what we need to know for now is that Sam Fischer is back, and this time the stakes are as high as they get. Third Echelon is dead, and the world is going to be the host for the biggest global terror attacks that humans have ever encountered. This countdown roster of terror attacks is codenamed ‘The Blacklist’. Tired of the U.S. and its military dominance over the other countries, 12 patriots decide they’ve had enough.  The Blacklist is the terror ultimatum of this group, set to launch a series of escalating terrorist attacks on U.S. interests. As Sam Fischer, an operative of the Fourth Echelon, it is in your hands (and your team) to sabotage the plans of these terrorists, hunt them down and stop the blacklist countdown before it reaches zero. If successful, the government will deny the existence of Sam. But if you fail… well, the world will never be the same.

The Last of Us

Top E3 Games at 2012

Coming from the same geniuses that came up with Uncharted, I wouldn’t be surprised at all by how good this game is shaping out to be. The game seems to be very story oriented and that by itself is a great motivator to play the game! The game blends survival and action elements to tell a story about a population overwhelmed by a modern plague. Cities are falling apart and being encroached upon by nature. The remainders of the survivors are killing each other for food, supplies, weapons and whatever else helps them survive. Joe and Ellie, two such survivors, must work with each other and survive their journey across what’s left of the United States.

Dead Space 3

Top 10 Games at 2012 Dead Space 2012

Dead Space has greatly contributed to the insomnia of many in the world of gaming. With its unique (incredibly freaky) sound effects, thrilling suspense and just plain startling horror, Dead Space has claimed the souls of many gamers. As if that wasn’t enough, our buddies down at Visceral seem to think they can still up the horror element. And boy, do I like the sound of that! Dead Space 3 takes place on an ice planet, name still unknown, and will feature a drop-in/drop-out co-op mode. The game environment will maintain the eerie nature that has been the trademark of all Dead Space games, but the game is said to range from the depths of space to tight corridors to a harsh new planet with explorable environments.   Anyone who’s played Dead Space knows why they would prefer the tight, claustrophobic corridors to the welcoming, almost innocent wide open spaces. Intense action, breathtaking adventure and a number of unforgettable thrills: that’s Dead Space 3 in a sentence.

Crysis 3

Crysis 3 at E3 2012 Best Game

Prophet’s back in New York. Only this time he’s pretty pissed off. Actually, very pissed off! He returns to the city only to find it encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. Nothing was how he had left it, but that’s not something he’s willing to let become permanent. The Nanodome, called the New York City Liberty Dome, is an urban forest, covered with an overgrowth of trees, dense swamps and rivers. Within the dome there are seven distinct treacherous environments that will come to be known as the ‘Seven Wonders’. Donning a revamped and technologically enhanced nano-suit and wielding a lethal composite bow, Prophet is set to hunt in these inhospitable regions. What is it that he is hunting for? Well… that’s left to be seen.
